New Škoda Epiq Electric SUV Revealed

The new Škoda Epiq has made its world premiere, introducing a bold new chapter for Škoda electric vehicles. Compact, clever, and confident, the Epiq is currently the brand’s most affordable electric vehicle, bringing fresh design, advanced technology, and everyday practicality to the popular SUV crossover segment.

Unveiled in Zurich, Switzerland, during the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship, the Škoda Epiq showcases the brand’s latest Modern Solid design language and a new technical package created to make electric driving simple, practical, and more accessible.

Speaking at the reveal, Škoda Auto CEO Klaus Zellmer described the Epiq as “unmistakably Škoda – compact, clever, confident”, adding that it brings electric mobility to a broader audience.

For drivers in Northern Ireland seeking a practical, stylish, and efficient electric SUV, the new Škoda Epiq is set to be an exciting addition to the Škoda electric vehicle range.

Modern Solid Design In Full Force

The Škoda Epiq fully embraces the brand’s Modern Solid design language. Every detail has been designed to look robust, practical, and distinctive, giving the compact electric SUV a strong road presence.

At the front, the Epiq features a glossy Tech-Deck Face, framed by striking T-shaped headlights. This creates a new lighting signature for Škoda and gives the vehicle a bold, modern appearance.

The headlights will be available in two versions, both using full LED technology. In addition to standard LED headlights, the Epiq can also be equipped with advanced LED Matrix headlights, featuring 12 light segments and four adaptive lighting modes for urban driving, rural roads, highways and adverse weather conditions.

The T-shaped design theme continues at the rear, where the LED tail lights mirror the same distinctive look.

Škoda Epiq First Edition

Shortly after launch, the Epiq range will be enhanced by a special first edition model. This version will feature the largest 55kWh battery, a 155kW electric motor, and a driving range of approximately 440 kilometres, which is around 273 miles.

The Škoda Epiq first edition will stand out with a range of exclusive visual details and enhancement equipment, including:

  • Navajo Orange exterior accents
  • Black -painted roof
  • First edition badging
  • 20-inch alloy wheels exclusive to the First Edition
  • Orange stitching on the steering wheel, seats, and dashboard
  • Three-spoke sports steering wheel
  • Orange seat belts
  • Black headlining
  • Sports pedal covers
  • Decorative sill trims
  • Convenience Package and Tech Package as standard

These details give the First Edition a more distinctive and dynamic appearance, while retaining the practicality and smart usability expected from Škoda.

Compact SUV styling with impressive aerodynamics

Although the new Škoda Epiq has compact exterior dimensions, it has been designed to look confident and capable. A high shoulder line, vertical bumper openings, and distinctive roof rails help give the car a strong SUV character.

Aerodynamics have also played an important role in the Epiq's design. Active cooling shutters beneath the front bumper, newly shaped wheels, Air Curtain channels, cleverly designed rear lights, and a completely flat floor all help support smoother airflow.

The result is a drag coefficient of 0.275, helping the Epiq deliver efficiency for everyday electric driving.

Spacious and Practical Interior

Inside, the Škoda Epiq continues the minimalist approach of the Modern Solid design language, while offering impressive space for passengers and luggage.

Despite its compact size, the Epiq provides up to 475 litres of luggage capacity, making it one of the most practical vehicles in its class. There is also 28.1 litres of cabin storage, giving drivers and passengers useful space for everyday items.

A front luggage compartment, also known as a frunk, will be added to the line-up at a later stage, offering an additional 25 litres of capacity.

This makes the Epiq a strong choice for drivers who want a compact electric SUV that is easy to live with, without compromising on practicality.

Sustainable Interior Materials

The Škoda Epiq interior uses textile seat upholstery made from recycled polyester fibres, helping support a more sustainable approach to vehicle design.

Škoda will offer several interior versions, including:

Studio Design Selection: A minimalist black and grey interior finish.

Loft Grey Design Selection: A modern grey interior with a new embossed texture and Techtona material elements.

Loft Mint Design Selection: A fresh mint green colour tone with similar premium material details.

Suite Design Selection: A flagship interior finish featuring Suedia seat upholstery with a three-dimensional pattern, paired with Techtona in Tabora Brown.

Loft and Suite versions include ambient lighting as standard, adding to the premium feel inside the cabin.

Technology and Infotainment

The new Škoda Epiq may be compact and affordable, but it still offers modern technology designed to make everyday driving easier.

At the centre of the cabin is a 13-inch infotainment display running an Android-based interface. This helps make the system simple and intuitive to use, while also supporting familiar app style funtionality.

Smartphone connectivity is seamless, and many vehicle systems can be controlled remotely through the MyŠkoda app. This gives drivers convenient access to key vehicle functions, helping make electric vehicle ownership more straightforward.

Smart Safety and Driver Assistance

The Škoda Epiq will also include a wide range of assistance and safety systems.

Available technologies include Travel Assist 3.0, Škoda's advanced assisted driving package. The Epiq also introduces new solutions to the Škoda range, including radar sensors positioned in the corners of the vehicle.

These sensors support junction assist, which can warn the driver about approaching cars, motorcycles, cyclists, or electric scooter users from the side. This is especially useful at intersections with limited visibility, helping improve confidence and safety.

Battery, Range, and Performance

The new Škoda Epiq is based on the MEB+ platform and will be available in three versions.

The entry-level and mid-level versions will use a 38.5kWh battery, offering a driving range of approximately 310 kilometres, which is around 193 miles.

The most powerful version will feature a 55kWh battery and a driving range of approximately 440 kilometres, or around 273 miles.

The three electric motor outputs are:

  • 85kW
  • 99kW
  • 155kW

The 55kWh version will also support fast charging, with the ability to charge from 10% to 80% in around 24 minutes.

This gives drivers a choice between more affordable versions for everyday use and a longer-range version for those who need greater flexibility.

Bidirectional Charging

One of the most advanced features of the Škoda Epiq is bidirectional charging.

This means the vehicle can be used to power electrical devices and appliances, either at home or on the move. The Epiq supports both V2L and V2H standards, allowing it to become part of a wider home energy setup.

This technology could make the Epiq especially useful for drivers who want their electric car to do more than simply provide transport.
