E10 petrol is being introduced today (Monday 29th August 2022) at filling stations across Northern Ireland.

E10 will officially become the new standard grade of petrol from 1st November 2022. The move will bring Northern Ireland in line with the rest of the UK.

What is E10 Petrol?

E10 is a biofuel made up of 90% regular unleaded and 10% ethanol – hence the E10 name (regular unleaded petrol contains up to 5% ethanol). As a greener petrol, the use of E10 will help to reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions associated with petrol vehicles.
