Mercedes-Benz AdBlue Refill

AdBlue is a specially formulated diesel exhaust fluid used in modern Mercedes-Benz diesel vehicles fitted with Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology. It helps reduce harmful nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions, allowing your vehicle to meet strict European standards.

AdBlue works to significantly reduce the amount of nitrogen oxide released from your vehicle’s exhaust. When injected into the exhaust system, it converts harmful gases into harmless nitrogen and water vapour, helping to improve air quality and reduce environmental impact.

AdBlue is used to support the emissions control system in Mercedes-Benz diesel vehicles. Without sufficient AdBlue, your vehicle may display warning messages, limit performance, or be prevented from restarting once the tank is empty, depending on the model.

AdBlue is made from a high-purity solution of 32.5% urea and 67.5% deionised water. It is non-toxic, non-flammable, and safe to handle when used correctly, but it should only be filled into the designated AdBlue tank.

AdBlue is injected into the exhaust system, where heat causes it to break down into ammonia. This ammonia reacts with nitrogen oxides in the catalytic converter, converting them into harmless nitrogen and water before they exit the exhaust.
