Mercedes-Benz CLA 250e AMG Line Review

The Mercedes-Benz CLA 250e AMG Line is a stylish plug-in hybrid that combines premium design, everyday practicality and efficient electric driving. For drivers who want the flexibility of petrol power with the benefit of short-distance electric driving, the CLA 250e offers a strong balance between performance, comfort, and running cost appeal.

What is the Mercedes-Benz CLA 250E?

The Mercedes-Benz CLA 250e is a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle, also known as a PHEV. This means it combines a petrol engine with an electric motor, allowing the car to drive using petrol power, electric power, or a blend of both.

For many drivers, this makes it a practical alternative to a fully petrol or fully electric vehicle. Shorter journeys can be completed using electric power when the battery is charged, while the petrol engine provides added reassurance for longer trips.

Mercedes-Benz highlights the CLA 250e Coupé with EQ hybrid technology as having an additional 80 kW electric motor and an all-electric range suitable for everyday use.

It offers up to 47 miles solely on electric power, placing it in the 8% BIK band for the 2024/25 tax year. The driving experience is smooth and refined, true to Mercedes-Benz standards. The steering is both light and responsive, efficiently managing the vehicle's weight during turns.
