What a year...

With nearly 1700 new vehicle deliveries and just shy of 1400 end of contract vehicles returned and sold, it’s been a busy time down in Boucher Way, Belfast, not to mention the 5000 + short term rentals managed throughout the year.

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank all our longstanding customers, those who have stuck by us through thick and thin and particularly through the last few Covid years, where things have been especially challenging at times. Long lead times and the fluctuation in pricing as manufacturers navigated their way through the turmoil of supply and demand issues has been a test but thankfully supply is improving, and terms are stabilising.

We have also been lucky enough to secure a significant amount of new business in the last 12 months and to those customers that have taken the leap of faith to move to Agnew Leasing, we appreciate the business, and we will work hard to deliver an excellent level of customer service to you. Over and above all things sales related, we have been busy from an events & marketing perspective too, multiple events attended incl. the NI Chamber of Commerce where we are a Patron, 1000 + new Newsletter subscribers, 120k + emails sent and 800 + social posts made.

As the business evolves and grows, we have also made some internal promotions and recruited new members to the team, Adam Patrick moving from Account Management and appointed as our new Sales Manager along with both Ethan Birnie and Jack Crawford moving into Sales, we’re excited when these opportunities come along as it is great to see progression internally. In Sales Support, Melissa Lavery and Lucy Blair have joined us along with Rihanna Campbell, our much-needed Accounts placement student and not forgetting Chris McKeown & Robert Brown in the maintenance team, an ever growing department within the business as the fleet expands YoY.

Aftersales is such an important part within Agnew Leasing, in life service and back up is what all customers really need, the peace of mind of knowing you will be looked after by your fleet provider is crucial. That is why 2023 has been a year of investment for Agnew Leasing and over the last 12 months we have been in the process of implementing a new fleet management system, due to go live in Jan 2024. This will not only give us but our customers a more integrated fleet solution, better efficiencies, and controls, and we look forward to rolling these changes out in due course.

As the fleet market changes and moves in various directions, we need to move with it, with nearly 15% of our live book being electric and 20% + of our order take electric, you can see how the landscape will change rapidly over the next 5 years and we want to be best placed to help you navigate your way through these changes in an effort to drive down your Co2 levels and carbon footprint. I think it would be fair to say that the fleet industry is stepping into uncharted territory and no doubt we’ll have a few more hurdles to get over in the incoming years.

Finally, all that is left to say is that everyone at Agnew Leasing would like to wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and prosperous New Year and we look forward to speaking to you all again in 2024.

Managing Director, Graham Thompson.
