The Agnew Group supports Workforce Training Services

Added: 01 June 2017

Workforce Training Services hosted their annual ‘Be Inspired’ Awards Ceremony at Belfast City Hall on 28th April 2017. The event was held to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of Workforce apprentice training scheme. It supports local trainee employment and progression whilst also recognising the key role employers and other stakeholders play in the success of local young people.

A special mention and congratulations to Hugh Grieve, an apprentice at Bavarian BMW who was awarded the prestigious ‘Apprentice of the Year’ title at the Awards Ceremony.

The Agnew Group currently have 33 first year Apprentices across our 15 Dealerships. Which includes 2 Apprentices at Agnew Repair Centre, 26 Motor Vehicle Technicians and 5 Apprentices across our Aftersales and Service Departments. The ongoing partnership with Workforce Training Services has enabled us to tailor the training provided to the requirements stipulated by both Manufacturer and Agnew Group standards, ensuring our trainees receive world class training locally.

The Agnew Group understand the importance of self-motivation and that the provision of opportunities to gain accredited qualifications maintains and develops an engaged workforce. We are hosting an Apprentice Forum on Tuesday 6th June for our Belfast based Apprentices and on Friday 9th June for our Portadown Apprentices. The forum will provide an opportunity to reinforce our Group Employee Policies and Guidelines and offers an open platform for trainee feedback. Career prospects and qualifications will also be discussed offering career progression opportunities such as Senior/Master Technician roles and Sales/ Service management positions.
